Looking Ahead
“In this exhibition, the photographer depicts the anxiety experienced by Qataris and Gulf nationals, as they gaze at those approaching from a distance in dive boats or camel caravans. He lives a constant duality between the sea and the desert, and between heat and mild weather. However, he transcends the past and inspires the future in anticipation of a new event. In these images, the artist makes the colour of the headdress the focus of the composition due to the energy that red color emits, and the head as a symbol of inherent thought.”

«في هذا المعرض يقدم لنا المصور حالة من الترقب التي يعيشها الإنسان القطري والخليجي، فهو يتطلع إلى القادم من بعيد، مع مراكب الغوص أوقوافل الصحراء. يعيش ثنائية تجدد مستمرة بين البحر والصحراء، بين الحر والاعتدال، وهو في كل الأحوال يتجاوز الماضي لينظر إلى المستقبل في انتظار جديد. في هذه الصور، يجعل الفنان لون غطاء الرأس محوراً في التكوين بما يحمله اللون الأحمر من طاقة ، وما تحمله الرأس من رمزية الفكر.»

“Sheikh Hasan’s interests include wide range of activities including his love of wildlife, his passion for heritage, establishment of museums, besides academic studies which culminated in obtaining a Ph.D. in the history of Qatar and glorified by a Ph.D. in Egyptian Art History from Germany. His interests also included his plastic artworks in the studios of Qatar Arts Center, and camera photography inside and outside the State of Qatar. The above findings had contributed to present us with this novel art gallery.”
